Losing the drive (bad engine pun)

This weekend I wanted to do another short work day, with a big impact, so out with the engine! With everything else I've done, all that was holding the engine in was the 3 remaining bolts on the transmission. First thing I did was drop the front two tires onto the ground, chocked them up, and pulled the e-break. I then raised the jack underneath the engine, until the rear was slightly lifted. I then crawled underneath the car and removed the remaining bolts. The engine was sitting on the studs. My roomate and I lifted the engine, and wiggled it off the studs. This was not a graceful process, but we got it done with no damage except to gaskets that would get replaced anyways. With a lot of wiggling, leaning the engine back and forth, and a few sudden drops, the engine was below the car. We tried to prop up the engine on 2x4s, but the jack was too wide. We ended up just wiggling the engine off the jack, which was not graceful, but it worked. Now to lift the rest of the car up around the engine.

Holy Rustamolie

With a little bit of wiggling, dragging, and grunting, we got the engine on the shelf where itll sit for a while. Aside from the grime, and the few issues I've known about, it looks in good shape all around. Though everything will get deep cleaned before going in. I do know a few pieces I want to replace are the carb and possibly the crank shaft if I damaged the threading (yay engine rebuild?!?!). Everything else will only get replaced for cosmetic reasons if needed, like maybe the exhaust pipes.
