Raising the... Floor?

After getting a good look at the top of the car, I decided to start tearing out the bottom. First thing to go was the last major electrical component in the sitting section of the car, the voltage regulator. This thing was a source of many pains in the past so I'm happy to rip it out. Under the rear seat, there were several miscellaneous wires from a set of under-glow lights a previous owner has put in, so a lot of those wires have been pulled out as well.

Out with the seats! The passenger side was fairly easy, but the driver side required some percussive maintenance to remove. From there, it was a matter of ripping out all of the carpeting. The panels under the rear seat came out as well. There is a lip running by the door securing some of the carpeting in, and that caused some rippage at the edge of the carpet. There were also some nails securing the carpeting right in front of the door behind the hinges. All of these pretty much got ripped out as well.

All the interior carpeting and the rear seat panels. You can also see the driver
side seat in the back

With all the carpeting removed, I can see exactly what shape the floor pans are in. They're basically all rust with a hole I didn't know about by the driver side feet. That being said, the rest of the body still seems in great shape. There was some rusting behind the rear seat that might need new sheet metal welded to it, but all in all, I'm very happy.

State of the floor pans are a bit spicy, but the rest is pretty good!

A closer look at the feet of the front row. There's the nice big rust spot in the front
that I didn't know about.

The last thing I did was remove the mechanics for the rear windows. The actual rollers are in good shape, if a bit rusty. Nothing that a little elbow grease wont clean up. The window I pulled out earlier is  a different story. I was able to get the other window and the bad hinge out. It appears to be set in by a big pin without a clear way to disassemble it. A shot of PB blaster got it to move a degree or two but not much. If I can't find a new (to me) one, it will be exciting to try and fix this one up
